Pay it forward!

 "May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us."


I received this in my e-mail today from a friend I have not seen in years. We have lived in different continents for almost two decades now. She has three young children and though we used to write long letters, sharing our struggles and our hopes as well as our doubts that our dreams might never be a reality, our communication now is reduced to a scant trickle. Its OK. Some of our fondest dreams are now the reality that prevents our sharing in the present but I know the love that supported those dreams is being passed along by both of us. 
So rather than regretting what is lost I choose to quietly let the words she has sent me permeate my day and in gratitude I bless her.
