Do not Do what You Hate!

In my recent exploration of the Gospels which were NOT in included in the bible, here are a few interesting quotes;

"Do not tell lies,  and do not do what you hate; for all things are plain in the sight of heaven."

"There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole universe. If it does not shine, there is darkness."

"the Kingdom is inside you, and outside you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will see that it is you who are the living children of the living Father."
Gospel of Thomas (Doubting)

Judas is described as Jesus' closest friend, someone who understands Christ's true message and is singled out for special status among Jesus' disciples.
In the key passage Jesus tells Judas, "'you will exceed all of them. For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me.'"
Kasser, the translation-project leader, "Jesus says it is necessary for someone to free him finally from his human body, and he prefers that this liberation be done by a friend rather than by an enemy. So he asks Judas, who is his friend, to sell him out, to betray him. It's treason to the general public, but between Jesus and Judas it's not treachery."
“Look, you have been told everything. Lift up your eyes and look at the cloud and the light within it and the stars surrounding it. And the star that leads the way is your star." So Judas lifted up his eyes and saw the luminous cloud, and he entered it.”
Gospel of Judas

"Every nature, every modeled form, every creature, exists in and with each other. They will dissolve again into their own proper root. For the nature of matter is dissolved into what belongs to its nature. Anyone with two ears able to hear should listen!"

"Levi answered, speaking to Peter, "Peter, you have always been a wrathful person. Now I see you contending against the woman like the Adversaries. For if the Savior made her worthy, who are you then for your part to reject her? Assuredly the Savior's knowledge of her is completely reliable. That is why he loved her more than us."
Gospel of Mary (Magdalene)

The Force is with you!

The miracles of Jesus were 'natural demonstrations of divine power,' a force available to any one with correct knowledge. In Religious Science we conceive of God as personal, present and active in the governance and organization of the world and the universe. Man and the universe as a whole are spiritual rather than material in nature and that truth and good are real, whereas sin and error are illusory aspects of material existence; our small mind's mistaken thinking. Like Christian Scientists we believe that through prayer, knowing and understanding God, all things are possible for good.

Take away the idea of God and replace it with Universal Energy. Thought has energy, according to Quantum Physicists, beliefs, have the power to heal or to kill you.  Are you ready to put this into action and demonstrate the miracles of "divine power" or "mind power?"

A tall order - part of my mind responds! Yes, a high aspiration maybe but having read Christian Science healings I know it is possible. Miracles do happen by invoking a Higher Power in which we have deep conviction. If so, why are we not all getting on board with these beliefs and testing it out for ourselves, seeing proof, demonstrating healing and seeing our lives expand in joy, love and success.
The collective consciousness seems to believe that the material world is most real. Ideas of God are accepted to occupy a limited space in the rhythm of people's lives. What can we trust, ancient texts and stories? Quantum Physics, a new and far fetched theory? Or can we trust an innate knowing or sense of something greater than ourselves? 83 percent of Americans claim to belong to a religious denomination but how many actively engage this higher power in their daily life? It can be called upon, felt, known and experienced in the blink of an eye. You might as well believe in something positive as something negative. Court the presence of optimism, call on the guidance of a Higher Power, be still and know. Release doubt and worry and striving. At least experiment with patience and trusting and see what ensues. Do your own exploration. You have nothing to loose but your stress!!!

Let these words be true...
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?  Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? From the Sermon on the Mount, Mathew's Gospel

Balance

So often we set an intention and suddenly the universe challenges us on our new resolve. Do you ever find this?

Let me give you an example.
I set an intention to release my belief in lack and began September's blogs on this theme so I might be mindful of what I believe and be in integrity with it. Already I find myself challenged by unexpected expenses; my cat needed x-rays this weekend and my car is seeing a mechanic tomorrow. Immediately I could begin to claim "I cant afford this," "I just cant get ahead," "I'm sure as heck not feeling abundant!!"  etc.

Thankfully I am a Practitioner of the Science of Mind and I may momentarily respond that way but very quickly I remember what I have stated as my belief. I believe I am One, as the wave on the ocean with God/Spirit. Spirit is infinite and abundant in all things. My source is not external to me, it is not a bank account or a job, it is Spirit. That being so, I trust that by winding passages or straight, I don't have to know the HOW, Spirit supplies my need.  I believe the activity of Spirit is always harmonious and balanced. Therefore I am a center for the expression of Balance in my financial affairs. I can pay my bills right now and be assured that whatever comes I can handle it too because I am a portal for Spirit's wealth.

A bit like Jesus isolated and fasting in the desert, being tempted by Satan offering all manner of power and false alternatives, he knew his Origin and his Power and did not accept what was seeming to be offered. Appearances are deceiving, and I do not accept the false belief in lack. At times like these I find its best to close ones eyes and meditate on the Truth. Give it a try, I find it works wonders!!

Affirm what you believe, and as you believe, it will be!

“Affirmation of life is the spiritual act by which man ceases to live unreflectively and begins to devote himself to his life with reverence in order to raise it to its true value.”
Albert Schweitzer, German Theologian, Musician and Philosopher. 1952 Nobel Peace Prize

These days I feel a bit off center as I am faced with many choices in my life. In times of transition nothing is certain, it feels like its all up in the air and who knows where or on whom it will fall! In essence I don't have the answers yet and not knowing can be a difficult place to dwell. I try to remember to deal with what is right in front of me, the ironing for instance or the phone call that must be made. If nothing is pressing then I find a drawer in the house to clear and organize. There are always steps to take.
In order for me to get to that step there is something else I try to remember also. Affirming the truth of who I am and what is going on. I believe I am a spiritual being and that my life is constantly expanding. My life is the life of Spirit and when I let go and follow my inner guidance I will be guided to greater joy, greater peace and greater understanding. So the first step to take is affirmation and that usually leads to a little space for peace to creep in and from there I can act. I can act from fear but peace works better for me!
Christian Science healings amazing amaze me. What impresses me most is the persistence of their affirmations. The evidence before their eyes may say other that what they affirm but they do not stop until what seems amiss comes into alignment with their truth; which is wholeness, well being, abundance, peace! Its profound! While they do this they also look at areas they may have unresolved forgiveness or resentment issues or any thought that is holding back the flow of Spirit's activity through them. You can read more at http://christianscience.com/
It's a good thing to acknowledge that with God all things are possible, the evidence is there. You have nothing to loose but your stress.
“I am optimistic and confident in all that I do. I affirm only the best for myself and others. I am the creator of my life and my world. I meet daily challenges gracefully and with complete confidence.” Unknown

Use your Invisible Power!

"God has given you everything. All is yours, and you know that all you have to do is to reach out your mental hand and take it." - Genevieve Behrend from Your Invisible Power.

Genevieve Behrend studied with Judge Thomas Troward, an early practitioner and philosopher of Mental Science, from 1912 to 1914. She spent 35 years as one of America's best known lecturers and teachers and founded schools in both New York and Los Angeles. When I read from her book "Your Invisible Power" or from any of the Christian Science testamonials I am always struck by the persistence of their use of affirmations.

Backed by deep faith in the idea that we are all part of the One substance and that if something exists one place in the universe it exists all places, an affirmation is not done once but as many times as is needed for the thing affirmed to manifest. There is no giving up with an "Oh its just not meant to be."

If a state of health or wealth or a job or the rent is needed, the affirming is stated as a present reality in the mind. An example might be, I am the health of God or I affirm that my needs are met now. The situation is not worried over, those thoughts are replaced promptly with the affirming of the Spiritual Truth, my needs/health are supplied by God.

I know this invisible power but I often forget my part in its action; believing and affirming and not allowing doubt to take hold. If this whole idea rings true for you may I ask are you putting it in practice? Are you doing your part?

Think of it like keeping the door open to the light. In time it may be possible to not have doubts but right now I know I need to keep proping that door open with my mental hand, my words and thoughts and receive my good today.

The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time. - Abraham Lincoln
